ROME










Trevi Fountain








The Pantheon

Built in 27 BC-25 BC under the Roman Empire, during the third consulship of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, and his name is inscribed on the portico of the building. The inscription reads M·AGRIPPA·L·F·COS·TERTIUM·FECIT, "Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, during his third consulate, built this".

In 609 the Byzantine emperor Phocas gave the building to Pope Boniface IV, who reconsecrated it as a Christian church, the Church of Mary and all the Martyr Saints (Santa Maria ad Martyres), which title it retains




Vittorio Emanuele Monument

built by Giuseppe Sacconi between 1895 and 1911 to honour Victor Emmanuel, the first king of unified Italy.










Roman Forum
Temple of Antoninus and Faustina -141 AD ..turned into a church in middle agesRoman Forum from Palatine Hill - Three columns are from the temple of Castor and Polux . First built in 484 BC. Rebuilt between 7 BC and 6 AD. Arch of Septimus Severus( 3rd century AD) is seen in distance.

Between the temple and arch stands the Column of Phocas , the last addition made to Roman Forum, The column was dedicated to Byzantine emperor Phocas on August 1 , 608.
Temple of Divus Romulus - Roman Forum ,built after 307 AD






Markets of Trajan - built between 94 and 113 AD Arch of Constantine - erected to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge on October 28, 312. Dedicated in 315






The Colosseum
- built in the 70s and completed in 80.
